Tap Countdown

Getting started

Create a countdown

Tap +, give it a title, add a note if you like, choose the number to count down from, and pick a color. You can have as many countdowns as you want.

Count down

Open a countdown and tap the big circle, or tap the − button next to it in the list. When you reach zero, the app celebrates and that countdown stops.

Undo or start over

On a countdown’s screen, Undo takes back your last tap. Start Over resets it to its starting number; your past taps stay in the calendar and stats.

Edit, reorder, or delete

Tap Edit on a countdown to change its title, note, number, or color. In the list, swipe left to edit or delete, or tap Edit at the top to drag countdowns into a new order. Deleting a countdown also deletes its history.

Widgets

Add a Home Screen widget

Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit then Add Widget, search for Tap Countdown, and choose the small or medium size. Tap the widget’s − button to count down without opening the app.

Add a Lock Screen widget

Touch and hold your Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, tap the widget area, and add Countdown Number.

Choose which countdown a widget shows

Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and pick a countdown. If you haven’t picked one, or the chosen countdown was deleted, the widget shows your first countdown.

The widget says to open the app

Open Tap Countdown once and create a countdown. Widgets show your countdowns after that.

Sounds and haptics

Each tap plays a soft click that rises in pitch as you near zero, and finishing plays a chime. To turn sounds off, tap the gear on the Countdowns screen and switch off Sounds. Sounds also follow your ringer switch: if your iPhone is in silent mode, you won’t hear them.

Languages

Tap Countdown is available in English, Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt), and Japanese (日本語), and follows your iPhone’s language. To use a different language for just this app, open the iPhone Settings app, go to Apps → Tap Countdown → Language.

Your data

Your countdowns and tap history are stored only on your iPhone. There’s no account and no sync. If you move to a new iPhone, restoring from an iCloud or computer backup brings your countdowns with it. Deleting the app deletes its data. See the privacy policy for details.
